Last week we shared our adorable Bubba the Amigurumi Bee from our Juna Series of animals. We were so in love with the little guy that we decided that he must have a matching bee crochet rattle. So today we are introducing our crochet bee rattle, the newest member of our crochet baby rattle series!
Our adorable amigurumi bee baby rattle is super quick to make, making it a great last minute baby shower gift. Like our cute butterfly rattle, it has a slightly different base shape than the rest of the series.
If you have more time, you can pair it with Bubba the Bee for the cutest crochet baby set. If you’re really buzzing for more bees, you can add our little crochet bee keychain as a cute diaper bag charm!

Like all the other baby rattles in our series, it has an easy-grip stem that allows babies to grasp onto it easier. So let’s get started and begin this cute little bee crochet baby rattle! You can add a rattle insert or even leave it as a cute crochet toy for babies.

Easy Bee Amigurumi: Pattern Notes & Tips
About the Pattern
- Difficulty level: Easy
- This pattern is written in US terms
- This pattern is crocheted in continuous rounds unless specified otherwise. Use a stitch marker on the first stitch of every round so that you don’t lose track of the start of your round.
- The bumps on the stem of the rattle make it easy to grip for little hands.
- This bee baby rattle pattern is part of our series of cute baby rattles.
Pattern Sizing & Adaptations
- Finished size: Approximately 6 inches tall, using DK yarn.
- This rattle was made using DK yarn. However, you may also make it using worsted weight yarn with the relevant hook (usually, for amigurumi you go down 2-3 sizes from that recommended on the yarn label).
- You could also use chunky yarns with the relevant hooks. However, it would then be too large for a baby to grip and so is not recommended for rattles.
Pattern Tips
- When stuffing your rattle, ensure that you have stuffing well placed around the rattle insert so that it’s covered in softness.
- This rattle uses black yarn, which can sometimes be hard to work with for a beginner, particularly for the antennae which have just 4 stitch rounds. If you’re having trouble seeing your stitches, crochet under natural light (in a well lit room or even outdoors) or use a bright light source, like a head lamp.
- You can pair your rattle with our Bubba the Bee pattern from our Juna Series of crochet animals for an adorable baby set.

Eyes
Using embroidery thread
Round 1: 6 SC into a magic circle (6)
Sl st to the first SC. Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Tip: The number of stitches that you want to put in the magic circle will depend on the thickness of the embroidery thread that you are using. The size of the eyes should be the same as a pair of 10mm safety eyes (if you want it to look like mine!). So just increase or decrease stitches as you need. I usually have 4 stitches for a thicker thread that I use (sports weight) and 6 stitches for embroidery thread.
Use white yarn and embroider on eye glints on each eye. Sew the eyes between rounds 14 and 15 from the top, 7 stitches apart. Embroider the mouth using black embroidery thread and cheeks under the eyes using pink yarn.
