Crochet Ideas for Ramadan and Eid

13+ Crochet Ideas for Ramadan and Eid (Free Patterns!)

I can’t believe Ramadan (or Ramzan as we say in Pakistan) is just a week away. It’s always my absolute favourite time of the year. It’s just a lovely time to be able to go inwards and reflect. And of course, the yummy food! And then it’s capped off by my favourite time of year: Eid! I was thinking it would be nice to crochet something to celebrate this special month. I couldn’t find too much out there so I thought I would put together a round up of crochet ideas for Ramadan and Eid. While some of these crochet patterns aren’t specifically designed with Ramadan in mind, I will share some ideas on how these can be adapted too.

Crochet Decor for Ramadan and Eid

In getting into the festivities of Ramadan and Eid, it’s really nice to decorate the house to mark the festive season. We have some really fun ideas for crochet decor that we can use to decorate our homes for Ramadan.

These crochet letters by Moogly can be in upper case or lower case. She also has crochet number patterns in case you would like to add the year (although I prefer things to be reusable so I don’t know if I would!). You can find the free pattern here.

Ramadan Crochet Calendar

It would be lovely to crochet a calendar with pockets for each day for children to mark the month of Ramadan. Like Advent calendars, you could put a sweet treat for each day or use it as space to share a special dua for the day, an act of kindness prompt, or even a date to open their fast to get children into the spirit of the month.

While there are plenty of Advent calendars, I couldn’t find a crochet calendar for Ramadan. So I’m sharing a few calendars that can be adapted for Ramadan. Since Advent calendars are 24 days long, these will have to be adapted for the 30 days of Ramadan.

House-Shaped Calendar

Gathered has a really cute calendar in the shape of a house. You could add an additional six windows in the roof (hello attic!) to ge the 30 that you need or you could add a few rows to the house base and then a few more to the roof to make it proportional. You can find the free pattern here.

Modern Calendar

This modern calendar by My Poppet Makes is really simple but super cute! You would just have to increase the length of the calendar to allow for the additional six days. The last two days could be centered at the bottom of the last row. You can find the free pattern here.

Eid Crochet Patterns

As Ramadan progresses, it’s time to get ready for Eid celebrations! We found fun crochet patterns that can be used for Eid gifting to make your Eid more colourful and handmade!

Crochet Doll with Shalwar Kameez

crochet doll with salwar suit and a dupatta on her head

My favourite part about Eid is dressing up. This year you can give the special kid in your life a doll dressed up in its Eid best as an Eid gift to mark this wonderful holiday. This crochet doll (which was designed to be Malala Yousafzai) has a lovely salwar kameez. She has a scarf on her head but she’s part of the Kozu Palm Pals series of small crochet dolls so her scarf can be traded for any of the hair styles of the dolls in the series. The clothes are removable so you can make a whole collection for them to be played with throughout the year! You can find the free pattern here.

Crochet Bangles

Eid (at least here in Pakistan!) means lots of fun and colourful bangles! I love these beautiful twisted chain bangles by Planet June. The pattern is quite simple and you can add a crocheted touch to your old bangles to repurpose them for Eid! You can find the free pattern here.

Crochet Eidhi Envelopes

Eid means Eidhi which means beautiful envelopes! This cute envelope pattern by Elisa’s Crochet would make such a lovely envelope for Eidhi. And the best part? It’s reusable so it can be used onwards by the recipient, spreading the love! You can find the free pattern here.

Eid Amigurumi Dolls

Muslim crochet dolls and a Kaaba plushie

If you’re looking for fun amigurumi to crochet for Eid, The Blue Elephants has a lovely Hajj collection that you could use. It’s so important for children to have dolls that look like them and reflect their cultural experience. With a crochet Kaaba plushie, a Haji doll, and a couple of Muslimah dolls, this would be a really lovely Eid gift. You can find the free patterns here.
