small crochet doll with ponytail and red sundress

Lyla – Small Crochet Doll with Ponytail and a Sundress

Lyla is a cute little doll with a ponytail and a sundress from our Kozu Palm Pals small crochet dress up dolls series. She (along with our little boy doll Faiz) was the first doll ever designed for the series. My nephews had a pretend play game with their larger crochet dolls where they were using little bear stuffies as the younger siblings. So one day, I decided to surprise them by crocheting actual small dolls for them – which is what led to the entire collection of Kozu Palm Pals small crochet dolls.

Fun fact: Lyla actually has a twin sister named Leila. But don’t worry, the pattern for both is exactly the same. Lol.

Fasten off. Leave a long tail for sewing and sew the hair cap onto the head.

Clothes

Tip: The clothes were designed using the same hook and yarn size as the doll. However, as you are making the clothes, keep trying them on your doll to ensure that they fit. If they are too snug or too big, you can go up or down a hook size.

The clothes should be put onto your doll from legs up, rather than over the head.

The clothes are crocheted in joined rounds. The slip stitch and chain between rounds do not count as stitches.

Note: This pattern is for a sundress. However, the clothes are removable so you can dress her up with the clothes from any of the other dolls in our Kozu Palm Pals Dress Up Crochet Dolls series.
