Monkey Crochet Baby Rattle Free Pattern
We’re bananas about this cute monkey crochet baby rattle free pattern! This monkey amigurumi rattle for babies is really fun to make and is a great gift for babies. We started crocheting rattles because it’s really fun to give something handmade to a new baby but you don’t always want to make something big and time-consuming. This monkey rattle amigurumi baby toy is nice because it works up really fast (yay for last minute gifts that look like you spent ages on them to the unseasoned eye! lol) but this crochet monkey rattle is also a really fun gift that a baby can engage with immediately by listening to the sounds and then, eventually, trying to replicate them themselves. The rattle stem is made up of four balls that are easy to grip for babies.
This amigurumi baby rattle is the latest addition to our crochet baby rattle series of various animal rattles. You can pair it with our Mika the amigurumi monkey pattern for an adorable crochet baby gift set. Or if you prefer something smaller, you can pair it with out small crochet mnokey.
Let’s get started on crocheting this monkey rattle!

How to crochet a monkey baby rattle
Rattle Base
To begin, you need to crochet the base of your rattle. You can get that pattern from our Flippy the frog crochet baby rattle pattern. However, note that you will begin your rattle in brown, not the green listed for the frog.
Once the base is complete, come back here so that we can continue.
Muzzle
Tip: The base shape of the muzzle is an oval, so we will be crocheting around chain, rather than a magic circle as we usually do with amigurumi. If you are new to crocheting around a chain, we have a tutorial on how to crochet an oval for amigurumi.
